Design of information systems using UML has something with art. Requires experience and intuition, forces you to compromise. Students learn about the problems and pitfalls lurking in the object-oriented analysis and design in UML and try to find their solutions. It turns out then that usually there is no single best solution and that every idea is good under certain assumptions. Thanks to this course a person familiar with UML and using it in their work learn how to deal with nontrivial design problems and gain a new perspective on object-oriented analysis and design.
