During the course participants learn how to configure and use the network and server monitoring tools in a test environment consisting of Linux servers, Windows machines, managed switches and routers.

Audience and prerequisites
Participants are expected to be familiar with:
- TCP/IP networks, routing
- Editing configuration files using a text editor
- Apache HTTP server and its basic configuration
- Reading and writing shell scripts (Bash, AWK) or at least one scripting language (Perl, Python) – necessary for writing custom monitoring plugins
